00:01 Okay so first number one here are the key differences between correlational research.
00:05 Well first would be the direction of research.
00:09 So correlational research can reveal whether two variables have a positive correlation, negative correlation, or no correlation.
00:17 So positive is going to mean as one variable increases the other does too.
00:22 Negative means as one variable increases the other is going to decrease.
00:26 And then second would be causation.
00:34 So while correlational research can identify a relationship between variables it cannot determine causality.
00:42 So just because two variables are correlated does not mean it does not necessarily mean that one caused the other.
00:50 So then second we have reasons researchers might use methods other than experiments.
00:56 So first would be ethical considerations.
00:59 Some research questions might involve situations that are unethical to manipulate in an experiment.
01:04 So for instance it might it would be probably unethical to subject individuals to harmful substances right just to see their effects.
01:11 And then secondly would be the practicality.
01:15 Okay so some variables can't be easily manipulated or controlled in an experiment...
