00:03
All right, so we're trying to see which of these are testable if things are qualitative or quantitative and then describing our approach to each of these.
00:13
So let's take a look.
00:14
So plant grows three inches faster per day when placed on a windowsill, then it does one place on a coffee table in the middle of the living room.
00:22
So that is definitely testable.
00:25
And we could take a quantitative approach to that for certain because we are looking for actual growth.
00:34
So we can take quantitative data in the form of growth, perhaps the height of the plant and so on.
00:40
So that's definitely something we could test.
00:43
And then the independent variable for that is going to be, you know, where the plant is.
00:55
And the dependent variable is going to be, you know, the growth of the plant.
01:05
So that is the gist of the plant.
01:08
That um let's see so i think that would be uh the main thing that we're looking for there let's look at number two number two um or at the bank with brown hair and brown eyes is taller than the other tellers um well that is quantitative data it's not really something you're going to do an experiment on though um you know you're just going to look at the height of the different you know bank tellers so i don't know that there's really anything that you're testing um you're just simply comparing them to the other bank tellers so again that's not an experiment that's just collecting data on you know pre -existing people um number three when sally eats healthy foods and exercises regularly her blood pressure is 10 points lower when then she does not exercise and eat and eats fatty foods okay um so again we can take quantitative data for that and that would be in the form of her blood pressure.
02:23
And to do this experiment, your independent variable is going to be diet and exercise, you know, or no exercise and fatty foods.
02:49
In fact, you know, put healthy diet.
02:56
There we go.
02:57
Yeah, so our diet and exercise are the two things we're testing here.
03:02
Dependent variable would be blood pressure of the effects on the blood pressure.
03:12
And so that would be pretty easy to test.
03:14
You know, you could just simply have or go through, you know, a certain specified period of time, you know, having the healthy diet and exercise.
03:24
And then also go through a period of time with no exercise and the fact.
03:28
Fatty foods and see what the difference is.
03:30
Although for a really good experiment, you honestly only want to change one variable at a time.
03:35
So with that being said, i probably would divide it up and first test diet, you know, the healthy diet versus the fatty foods.
03:44
And then later on, you can do another experiment, you know, looking at exercise versus no exercise.
03:53
So that would be another way that you could, you know, go about seeing if this would be the right thing to do.
04:01
All right...
