Suppose a single gene with two alleles controls coat length in a fluffy breed of cat, such as a Persian. The S allele codes for short hair, and the s allele codes for long hair. The S allele is dominant, and the s allele is recessive.
The graphs show the genotype frequencies of the original population and the genotype frequencies after several generations of selective breeding.
