Interpret your results for f(0.5), f(2), and f(4) in the context of the question.
f(0.5) and f(2) will both be $39. This means that if we use 0.5 or 2 gigabytes of data, we can stay within the plan and not have to pay any additional charges.
For f(4), we have exceeded the 2 gigabyte limit of the plan. Therefore, we would have to pay $15 per gigabyte for the additional 2 gigabytes, resulting in a total charge of $69.
