In the first step, tapworm lives in small intestine of defective hosts, which can be dog or coyote.

Then this adult tapworm produced eggs that are passed in the fisses of this defective host.

In the next step, these eggs can be ingested by an intermediate host, which can be sheep, cattle, peat, humans.

Then the egg hatched in the small intestine of intermediate host and then larvae will penetrate the walls of intestine and migrate to the organs, especially liver, and lungs.

In the third state, larvae develop into fluid -filled cyst called hiatid cyst, and then this cyst grows slowly up to 10 to 20 centimetre in diameter.
