The concept of evolution by way of natural selection is a central tenet in biology that has been tested in numerous ways by many scientists but is not yet considered a law. Evolution by way of natural selection is most likely which type of concept? A hypothesis that can be accepted as true based on repeated experimentation with similar results, a likelihood based on the chance that a particular event will or will not occur, a statement of fact that is generally accepted to be true and universal because it has always been observed to be true, or a probability that is an answer to a scientific question and is based on prior knowledge or research.

Species are descended from a common ancestor and have changed and diverged over time." This simple, but elegant, postulate is the core of what in science we call "Evolution by means of Natural Selection" theory formalized by Darwin and Wallace. During this course, we studied both the causes and consequences of the evolutionary processes. We explored how various disciplines, each in its expertise areas, provided evidence that "Evolution by means of natural selection" is a sound and strong scientific theory. From all of those pieces of evidence we studied, choose two and briefly explain how they do corroborate the "descent with modification.

Sometimes critics charge that evolution is based on mere speculation because it cannot be directly observed or experimentally induced. Is this true of evolution by natural selection? a. This statement is partly true when applied to natural selection. Natural selection can be observed in bacteria and insects, but no in other organisms. b. Yes, Natural selection makes sense, but it works too slowly to produce observable changes in organisms. c. No. Natural selection changes the traits of some organisms quite quickly, in ways that are clearly adaptive. Scientists have documented such changes in thousands of studies. d. Yes, it is technically true. However, the effects of natural selection are very obvious and it is hard to come up with a better explanation for adaptations
