A eukaryotic cell is a complex biological organization that contains certain unique properties. Unlike prokaryotic cells, eukaryotic cells have a true nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. Prokaryotic cells, on the other hand, do not have a true nucleus and their DNA is not contained within a membrane-bound nucleus. Prokaryotic cells contain genetic material in the form of prokaryotic DNA. They reproduce through a process called binary fission, in which the cell divides into two identical cells. These cells come together to form tissues, organs, and multicellular organisms.
