To summarise the pain process, Blank 1 Question 2 occurs at the injury site (at the wrist for example) then the pain signal is sent as part of the Blank 2 Question 2 step to the Blank 3 Question 2 and the brain where Blank 4 Question 2 occurs. The process of whether action is taken to either enhance or inhibit the pain experience is called Blank 5 Question 2 .
