These practices can lead to the contamination of food with harmful substances, increasing the risk of diseases. 1.2 Ability to store food longer: The ability to store food longer, made possible by modernization, has also contributed to the spread of diseases. With the development of refrigeration and preservation techniques, perishable foods can be stored for extended periods. However, if proper hygiene and storage practices are not followed, bacteria and other pathogens can multiply in these stored foods, leading to foodborne illnesses. 1.3 Increasingly domesticated animals: The increasing domestication of animals has played a role in the spread of diseases. As more animals are kept in close proximity to humans, the risk of zoonotic diseases, which can be transmitted from animals to humans, increases. Factors such as overcrowding, poor sanitation, and the use of antibiotics in animal farming can further contribute to the spread of diseases. 1.4 Increased consumption of raw foods: The increased consumption of raw foods, driven by changing lifestyles and dietary preferences, has also contributed to the spread of diseases. Raw foods, such as salads, fruits, and sushi, may contain harmful bacteria, viruses, or parasites that can cause foodborne illnesses if not properly handled or prepared. The popularity of raw food diets and the globalization of food markets have increased the risk of disease transmission through raw food consumption. 1.5 The worldwide trade of agricultural products: The worldwide trade of agricultural products has facilitated the spread of diseases. As food and agricultural products are transported across borders, there is a risk of introducing new pathogens to different regions. Additionally, the globalization of food supply chains can make it difficult to trace the origin of contaminated products, delaying the identification and containment of disease outbreaks.
