5. Use a table to record your titration data in the data and observations section of your lab notebook:
Trial 1 | Trial 2 | Trial 3
Mass of KHP unknown percentage sample (g)
Initial buret reading (mL)
Final buret reading at endpoint (mL)
Volume of 0.1 M NaOH used to reach endpoint (L)
6. Calculate the percentage by mass of your acid unknown:
a. First calculate the mols of NaOH required to reach equilibrium. This equals the number of moles of KHP in your sample. Using the FW of KHP, calculate the mass of KHP in your sample.
b. Calculate the percentage of KHP in each sample. (mass KHP / mass sample * 100%)
7. Calculate the mean percent by mass, standard deviation, and RSD of the KHP unknown percentage sample.
