A. Yes B. No Question 3 An IPv4 subnet is a network inside the larger network, identified by a certain number of initial bits that are common to all the addresses in the subnet. The number of common bits (aka the prefix length) is given with a slash after the base address (i.e. the lowest address) of the subnet. The remaining bits are available to be freely assigned to hosts in the subnet, with the exception that the base address is reserved for the subnet number, and the last address is reserved for the subnet broadcast address. These two addresses are still part of the subnet. For example, the routing prefix 192.168.1.0/24 defines a subnet with a constant first 24 bits, i.e. with a prefix length of 24.
