All right, so here we want 25 survey questions that can demonstrate the correlation between screen time and study duration.
00:17
That's what we're looking for, the correlation between these variables, screen time and study duration.
00:28
And we want to create the questions such that they get quantitative data that we can use to reveal distribution of results.
00:36
So the first thing is grade level, that's a nice thing.
00:39
What grade are you in? on average, how many hours a day do you spend on devices? that's a great way to get a nice continuous variable, a ratio value there.
00:51
Do you feel that you spend too much time on electronic devices? yes or no? you could do, i know the answer would be yes or no, but this could be, you'd have your yeses and your nos.
01:01
You could count how many of those you have and you can do a proportion, like wow, how many kids are saying yes and can look at how much time they spend studying, which is an expression.
01:13
How many hours do they spend studying? average, what's your gpa, numerical value there? have you noticed any changes in your gpa since you increased your screen time? maybe this could be, that's something i came up with, if they have seen an increase in their screen time.
01:34
And then again, yes or no, you could do a quantify there, how many yeses, how many nos.
01:40
Or even i don't nos, right? i don't nos.
01:43
I don't nos.
01:45
That's another thing.
01:47
On average, how many hours do you spend tv? on average, how many hours do you spend playing video games? on average, how many hours do you spend on social media? screen time, getting your feel for how much screen time they use, or they have.
02:01
Do you feel yourself distracted by social media while studying? again, yes, no, how many? yes, how many yeses, how many nos, how many i don't nos? do you think use of your device affects your ability to focus? another yes, no, i don't know.
02:14
Do you think that using devices helps or hinders your ability to learn? again, yes, no, i don't know.
02:20
You could quantify it.
02:22
You could do a chi -squared test, something like that.
02:24
You have your yeses here, and your nos here.
02:29
You make an old table...
