Red-green colorblindness is an X-linked recessive trait in humans. Use the letters B and b to represent this trait, where B is the dominant allele and b is the recessive allele. What is the genotype of a carrier female with 2 X chromosomes? Choose all correct answers. Note, superscript letters (i.e., XB) are written as XB in the possible answers (because Canvas won't put superscripts in the possible answers!) (Hint: drawing out a Punnett Square might help you answer this question.) Group of answer choices XBXb Bb BY XBXB XbXb BB XBY XbY

Color blindness is a sex-linked recessive trait in humans. a.) If we use a letter "B" to represent the color blindness gene, what would be the possible alleles for this gene? (1 pt) b.) Using the notation from part a, what is the genotype of a female carrier for colorblindness? (1 pt) c.) What is the probability of a female carrier and a normal male having a child who is colorblind? Please write down the cross you used for your Punnett square, include a diagram/table, or explain in words how you arrived at your answer for full credit. (2 pts)

In humans, red-green color blindness is controlled by a gene on the X chromosome. In females, normal color vision is dominant to color blindness. A convenient way to represent the gene is to use an X (for the X chromosome) with a superscript for the particular allele. Thus, if we use the letter "B" for the normal gene, the normal allele would be XB and the color blindness allele would be Xb. Genotypes are listed below. What are the phenotypes with respect to sex and color vision of each? XB XB female with normal color vision XB Xb female with normal color vision XB Xb male with normal color vision Xb Xb male with color blindness

28. Regarding the problem of color vision deficiency: a woman has this genotype: Xb Xb. What are the possible genotypes for her mother? Use this key: b = color vision deficiency; B = normal vision (Can have more than one answer) a. Xb Xb b. XB XB c. Xb Yb d. XB Xb 29. A woman is a carrier for Hemophilia A. What are the possible genotypes for her son? Use this key: H = health, h = disease. (Can have more than one answer) a. Xh Y c. XH Xh c. Xh YH d. XH Y
