00:01
Hello.
00:02
We're talking about what to do in the event of somebody having alcohol poisoning and what the symptoms likely are.
00:08
All right.
00:09
Now your symptoms are going to appear as if it's really, essentially it's being drunk, but being very drunk and very sick with it.
00:20
Right.
00:20
So some of the things you see are going to be regular things you would attribute with someone being pretty wasted, such as vomiting.
00:28
Okay.
00:28
Passing out.
00:30
Difficult to awaken, that kind of a thing.
00:33
But this goes a layer past that.
00:35
As the body starts to be poisoned and shuts down, you can start to breathe slower.
00:42
Okay, so the breathing might become shallow or slower.
00:45
Sometimes you see it written as eight seconds, sometimes it's 10 seconds, but essentially each breath comes with a big break between the two.
00:53
As your breathing slows, or as the person's breathing slows, what happens is the body isn't getting enough oxygen, right? this means that their skin might start to appear bluish or pale.
01:09
The same type of thing happens in hypothermia, right? as you're not getting enough oxygen, you start to go, your skin starts because the oxygen isn't pumping through you as much.
01:20
Right.
01:21
And then a slow or regular heartbeat that goes hand in hand.
01:25
Sometimes that's part of the reason or ties closely to the breathing, and then your body temperature starts to drop.
01:32
That also goes with the bluish or pale skin.
01:34
That and the oxygen all kind of tie together.
01:37
At the severe level, you start to see seizures.
01:42
Okay, now obviously, anytime there's seizures, it's an emergency, you call 911, but that's the extreme version.
01:49
So the answer is literally all the symptoms could be alcohol poisoning.
01:52
Now, of course, with any situation, somebody might not exhibit every single one of these, right? for example, you might not see the seizures or you might not see the blue skin or something like that.
02:04
Okay, this is just the main list.
02:06
All right, next and then it's what to do, right? naturally, in any type of emergency situation, you call 911.
02:14
Now, anytime somebody could be vomiting, and this applies to somebody who's just drunk, but not alcohol poisoning, this counts with someone having seizures, even if it's not due to alcohol poisoning.
02:25
Anytime someone is vomiting and they're having a hard time holding themselves up, like they're not conscious enough to be standing up or anything like this.
02:33
You lay them on their side...
