What are two ways that you could alter the plasma membrane to make it more permeable to water? How do these modifications each increase water movement across the membrane?
Added by Michael B.
Step 1
This can be done by changing the temperature, as an increase in temperature can make the membrane more fluid and allow for easier movement of water molecules across the membrane. Show more…

Describe two ways that the fluidity of a membrane can be increased, without changing the amount of cholesterol in the membrane.

plasma membrane is permeable to water ? how does a cell show endosmosis or exosmosis
Madhur L.
The plasma membrane is selectively permeable. This means that it allows some substances to enter and leave a normal healthy cell, unrestricted. Toxins produced by certain bacteria cross the plasma membrane, interfering with normal chemical reactions, and ultimately killing the affected cell. Why are cells unable to stop the flood of harmful substances such as botulin into the cell?
