What happens when a cell transitions from the prophase stage to the metaphase stage during mitosis? 1.Chromosomes are uncondensed and arranged randomly throughout the cell. 2.Chromatids are separated and isolated into separate daughter nuclei. 3.Chromosomes are aligned along the center of the cell and then pulled apart into separate chromatids. 4.DNA is condensed and then sister chromatids are organized along the midline of the cell.

What happens during anaphase II of meiosis? The nuclear membrane begins to form around haploid sets of chromosomes. Homologous chromosomes separate, but sister chromatids remain joined at their centromeres. Sister chromatids are distributed in a single layer across the center of the cell. Homologous chromosomes are randomly arranged in the middle of the cell. Sister chromatids separate from each other and migrate to opposite ends of the cell. Homologous chromosomes form, and crossing over occurs between them.

If cytokinesis does not occur after mitotic cell division, what would happen? (Assume that all other stages of mitosis part occured properly) (7 pts) a) Chromosomes could not be aligned in the middle of the cell correctly b) Sister chromatids could not be pulled to the opposite poles of the cell c) Daughter cells would share the same cytoplasm d) DNA could not be replicated at the end of mitosis e) Chromosomes could not be condensed from chromatin fibers Leave blank
