Okay, this question here says you're working as a back office medical assistant and you have just performed a tb test on a patient who needs the test for employment verification.
00:09
The patient is 26 year old male and he tells you that he really needs this job because he has to support his family.
00:15
However, he's worried about the test results.
00:17
When you inquire why he's worried, he tells you that he hears if you test positive you will not be able to work.
00:24
And it says, what would you tell this patient? what disease is the patient worried about? would there ever be a reason a patient would test positive? and if so, what are the standard protocols? so in this case the disease that is being tested in this case is tuberculosis.
00:46
Okay, so in this case testing a positive for tuberculosis doesn't automatically disqualify someone from from working because a positive tb test means that you have been exposed to the bacteria that causes tb.
01:01
But it doesn't necessarily mean that you have an active infection.

Okay, so there are two types of tb tests...
