Where is the heart located?
Centrally behind the sternum in the thorax, superior to the diaphragm, predominantly on the right side
Within the left thoracic region, entirely housed within the cardiac notch of the left lung
Posterior to the sternum, within the thoracic cavity's mediastinum, slightly left of center
Anterior to the vertebral column, within the upper region of the abdomen, slightly to the left of the midline
