Which of the following statements are true regarding the arterial system and capillaries? The cross-sectional area of the capillaries is greater than that of any other blood vessels. Exchange of materials occurs in the capillary beds between the blood and interstitial fluids. The blood and the interstitial fluid are not the same. The elastic recoil of the arterial walls contributes towards the maintenance of blood pressure. The high rate of diffusion in the capillaries is aided by the high flow of fluid. The pressure is greatest in the capillary beds to aid in forcing fluid exchange with the interstitial spaces. Vasodilation and vasoconstriction are controlled by the smooth muscles in the walls of the capillaries.

00:01 Hello students in this question we have been asked about capillaries and out of the options which is not a feature capillaries now let's understand what are capillaries now we know that the blood vessels are mainly made of arteries and veins so arteries are comparatively thicker than veins so when arteries reach the specific organ they become more narrow to cover the organ completely and supply it with oxygen and exchange nutrients across the organ so the arteries break out into capillaries which are narrow have smaller density a smaller diameter and thin walls now this is to exchange oxygen with the organ and take out the unwanted products which is then transferred to venules which are the smallest blood vessels in the circulatory system which then converges and forms converges into a vein.
01:51 So this is a rough idea of our circulatory system where capillaries, venules are the smallest one in the circulatory system and then the capillaries.
02:09 Capillaries are usually narrow, have thin walls for the exchange of nutrients and have smaller diameter...
