Note the layout of the cave chambers and the location of the Dinaledi chamber, where the Homo naledi fossils were discovered. Current research suggests that there was no way for the remains to have accidentally fallen into the Dinaledi chamber, so it is possible that they were intentionally placed there. Which Homo species are known to have intentionally buried their dead? What does that suggest about their social behavior and intellectual capacity?
