Who is most in danger from the effects of overfishing ?

The largest catches in the world are those for clupeoid fishes (small, plankton-feeding fishes that form huge schools). They include herrings (often sold as "sardines"), anchovies, sardines (sometimes called pilchards), menhadens, and shads. But tuna is a more valuable fish, why isn't (or wasn't) there more tuna in the ocean to be caught, comparable to clupeoid fishes? Tuna is a carnivore species at the top of the food chain, and therefore in lower abundance. According to the trophic pyramid, a herbivore needs to feed on plants that sum up ten times its weight, and a carnivore feeds on ten times its weight. So planktivore fishes are much more abundant. Tuna could not be caught before the invention of the Global Positioning Navigation System (GPS), so traditionally Sardines etc made more of the catch. Tuna lives only in the tropics, which make a smaller area of the oceans than Sardines, Anchovies etc, which exist in high abundance in both the tropics and other latitudes so occupy larger areas and make up higher numbers. Question 4 What is the problem with unsustainable production of palm oil, soy, natural rubber, corn, cocoa, coffee, minerals (such as bauxite for aluminum production)? They harm the ozone layer. They promote bio-magnification. Their unregulated production can drive deforestation.
