Spring has an equilibrium length of 0.100 m. When a force of 40.0 N is applied to the spring, the spring has a length of 0.140 m. What is the value of the spring constant of this spring?

A spring has a mass of 1 kg and its damping constant is $ c = 10 $. The spring starts from its equilibrium position with a velocity of 1 m/s. Graph the position function for the following values of the spring constant $ k: 10, 20, 25, 30, 40 $. What type of damping occurs in each case?

A spring has an un stretched length of 10 cm. A 100g mass is added, and the spring stretches to a total length of 20cm, where the mass rests at equilibrium. What is the spring constant? Now, the same mass as in problem 1 is pulled down an additional 5cm, so that the length of the spring is 25cm, and then released. Draw a graph that shows the subsequent motion of the spring (as a function of time). On your graph, show the meaning of the amplitude and the period-include numbers!
