RL Circuits - Example 2

In electronics, a resistor–inductor circuit or RL circuit is an electronic circuit consisting of an inductor and a resistor connected in series or in parallel. An RL circuit is a passive circuit, meaning that it contains no active components (such as a transistor). The circuit may be analyzed as a combination of an ideal voltage source in series with an ideal current source. The voltage source represents the voltage across the resistor and the current source represents the current through the inductor. The RL circuit is an example of a linear circuit, a circuit that is linear in the sense that the output is a linear function of the input. The circuit can be described by a set of differential equations or a set of algebraic equations.
