So what is a metabolic pathway? metabolic pathways are simply a series of enzyme -led reactions that build or break organic molecules.

Okay, so above i have an example of what a simple metabolic pathway looks like.

You stop with the reactants, the reactants then make an intermediate, and this intermediate can be used to make the product.

Either we're slowly building up the product, or we could be breaking down the reactant to make the product.

Now, at each of these steps, there could be an enzyme that could help get us to where we want to go by lowering the activation energy.
