So what happens is we have the normal bacterial chromosome of dna and we have the abnormal inserted dna of the bacteriophage.

As we have mrnas and other cellular proteins reading the dna and replicating it, we're going to get cellular products that are encoded inside that bacteriophage sequence.

In the lytic cycle, the cell is going to produce so many cellular parts and bacteriophage structures that the cell begins to swell because it can't continue to contain all these products and it's going to rupture along the cell membrane because it's expanded so much.
