What is the difference between saturated vapor and superheated vapor?
What is the difference between saturated vapor and superheated vapor? A superheated vapor cannot exist at room temperature, but a saturated vapor can. A superheated vapor must be at or above the critical temperature. A saturated vapor only exists if there is also a coexisting liquid; otherwise, it is a superheated vapor. A superheated vapor is far hotter than a saturated vapor. A vapor that is infinitesimally close to condensing is a saturated vapor.
