How do you think jurors respond to "battles of the experts" when there are multiple expert witnesses, reaching different opinions on the basis of essentially the same information, and testifying for different sides? For example, in the Jeffrey Dahmer case, there were 7 experts - 3 for the defense, 2 for the prosecution, and 2 for the court. How can/should jurors make sense of the conflicting information to help them resolve the case? How does the court protect against "junk science" in expert witness testimony? Is it effective? Why or why not? How might the courts get better at this?
