B Cell Development

Central Tolerance

This process ensures that B cells that strongly recognize self-antigens are identified and rendered non-functional or eliminated before they can mature and enter the peripheral circulation, thereby preventing autoimmunity.

Clonal Deletion

Clonal deletion is a form of negative selection in which self-reactive B cells, upon binding strongly to self-antigens in the bone marrow, receive signals that lead to apoptosis. Receptor Editing
