00:01
So here we have four different points that we want to graph in the same xyz coordinate axes.
00:07
When you draw the xyz axes, we typically let the vertical axis and the plane of our writing surface be the z axis, the horizontal axis in the plane of our writing surface, the y axis.
00:24
We imagine the x axis coming out of our writing surface, coming out of the board, coming out of the paper, coming out of the screen.
00:33
And to kind of give some perception for that, we draw it at an angle in this direction.
00:40
Units marked equidistant as usual.
00:48
We usually only draw a little portion of the negative side of each axis to keep the axes from getting too cluttered.
00:58
So we have four points that we all want to see together.
01:03
So i'm going to use a different color for each point.
01:05
So i'm going to start with green for the first point.
01:12
So we don't come out of the board in the x direction at all.
01:19
In the y direction, we go five units.
01:23
And in the z direction, we go up two units.
01:27
And so that point's going to end up right there.
01:32
And to kind of show where that is a little bit better, i'm going to draw a reference set of dashes there to kind of help picture how far up and down these points go.
01:48
The next point i'll graph an orange, 4 -0 -negative 1, which means along the x -axis, i come out 4 -4 -1.
02:00
I come out 4 units...
