Hey guys, so we're going to talk about some pretty unique types of active transport.
00:07
Remember, these are active transport, which means it uses energy.
00:18
So i want you guys to keep that in mind while we talk about them.
00:33
So the first one is endocytosis.
00:35
This starts with a cell, and the cell is surrounded by little particles that it wants, for nutrients, for hydration, to make different components, anything like that.
00:54
So what's going to happen is the cell is going to make a little bowl shape.
01:06
And the particles are going to kind of go into that bowl.
01:12
It's going to kind of suck them in.
01:15
Then that bowl shape is going to kind of close up around it.
01:26
And eventually this leads to the cell with a sack of nutrients inside it.
01:38
So this is cellular eating and drinking.
01:40
Now, how do the cells use this? what's going to happen is the cells are actually going to send little enzymes to go in and digest these particles and break it apart and do everything they need to do with it.
01:59
Now, where the energy is used is actually changing the shape of the cell and folding in its membrane to make that little cup in order to get the nutrients inside of it...
