Which of the following is NOT true about taxonomy? The Linnaean classification is a hierarchical system, with species grouped at lower levels (e.g., genus) being more similar to each other than those grouped at higher levels (e.g., phylum). Linnaeus built his classification based on evolutionary principles. The tree of life/classification system has changed somewhat as we have discovered new species and new things about them. Genetic data has mostly, but not entirely, backed up the classifications initially developed based on morphological traits.
