Hello everyone.
00:01
I hope all as well.
00:03
So today i will be helping you with the 12th problem of the chapter 24 problem set.
00:09
So what this problem is asking is to identify which part of the leaf is majority of the time associated with photosynthesis.
00:17
So photosynthesis, what it is is it takes sunlight and water and it creates glucose or sugar or food for the plant.
00:26
So what we want to do is identify which part of the leaf is directly associated with that majority of the time.
00:33
So i would attack this problem by doing process of elimination through and go through all of the options and identify which ones are my best ones.
00:41
So let's start with a, the vascular bundle.
00:45
So personally, i know i would cross this one out directly.
00:49
But to explain more, the vascular bundle is the xylem.
00:56
And it's the flome.
00:59
So these are the two main ways that the plant transports stuff.
01:04
So the flam are made up of tracids and sieve tubes.
01:09
And what it does is it transports food from the source to the sink.
01:14
And then xylem is how the water is transpired out of the whole entire plant.
01:21
And it carries water and no nutrients.
01:24
Okay.
01:25
So i would cross this one out.
01:26
So a is out.
01:27
Other question.
01:28
The mesophyll.
01:30
Yes.
01:31
So this is a lot of the time directly associated with photosynthesis because it's the green part of the of the leaf and it allows it to carry out photosynthesis.
01:45
So that is a great option.
01:47
The epidermal layer...
