Okay, so Chapter 47 problem to looking at. Ah. What shows? Conservation biologist support ethical principles. And so, of course, to support, uh, ethical principles. Uh, we're looking for something that sort of has good, uh, moral implications and the statements when we go through the list of choices given here first forgiving, given that biodiversity is observed at various levels. And so this just, though, doesn't really have any ethics to it. Right. Um, so there's there's no ethical opinion here is just a naturalist saying that they have seen it places, um, for this can't be the answer that we're looking for since we move on to the next one which says that species give us goods and service is right from wild species. However, this would sort of imply that that maybe we would, uh, keep keep the species that offer's good and not care what the ones that don't. So maybe we don't care if cockroaches die on me. We do care if if Turkey's go extinct, sweetie to eat them for Thanksgiving. At least here in the U. S. We d'oh! Uh, so this sort of has some strange implications, morally, that that it was only care care about some, but not others. And that's not really good for for about ever. See. So for to increase biodiversity have to sort of think that a cockroach in a turkey err on even playing field here. And so this this certainly does not does not really fit, uh, with with these ethical principles, So moving on then to our third choice or third choices about new technologies well, technologies can be used in any which way, right? You can use new technologies to help conservation, because is it not help? Right. So so then this one as well. There's there's sort of, uh, no new really statement about ethics. It's just that technologies exist and can be used. Okay, so then we're moving along list here pretty quick. We have two more. So we have There are three principles of restoration biologist in to be adhered to in orderto restore ecosystems. Well, this is just a sort of like list right s. So how do you restore an ecosystem? You do three things, but But again, uh, sent Mrs Callisto Rita, how to? But it doesn't really answer the why or the moral Conry that We're looking forward. So to move on is the last one, which is that has intrinsic value, right? We care about biodiversity because biodiversity has value in and of itself. It has nothing to do with the goods. Weaken, get or you know, the technology. Um, how it benefits us. It's just just is beneficial. Well, the having 100 different kinds of cockroaches is good. Um, as long as you're not in your house, I suppose s o the credits Air here is going to be e The biodiversity has value regardless of practical benefit.
