a. A Platinum Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) PT100 measures 136.7 Ω at 100°C.
(i) Calculate the resistance of the RTD at 40°C.
(ii) Calculate the temperature when the resistance is 110 Ω.
(iii) Write your reflections on the answer obtained.
b. Figure 4 shows an NTC thermistor, R2, in a voltage divider signal conditioning circuit. The thermistor will be used to measure temperature from 0°C to 100°C. At 0°C, R2 = 120 kΩ and at 100°C, R2 = 2 kΩ.
Calculate the output voltage in the circuit at 30°C.
