Hi students today we are going to discuss about hydroelectricity.
00:07
Hydroelectricity simply means the electricity which is produced out of water.
00:13
And here the electricity produced by this method is produced with the help of a hydro power plant which is shown in this particular picture.
00:21
Now this hydro power plant usually consists of various parts which include a dam, a generator, a turbine and electrical power.
00:30
And here it should be noted that this dam which has been constructed across the river will stop the natural flow of water thereby creating a gravitational potential energy to the water bodies that is maintained at a particular height from the ground.
00:47
Now during the electricity production this water stored in the dam is allowed to flow to the turbine with a very high speed which is taken as weak and due to this very high speed it will cause the rotation of the turbine and generate electricity using the generator and the electricity so generator is being transmitted using the electrical necks.
01:10
Therefore we can say that in the case of a hydro power plant, the gravitational potential energy of water is converted into kinetic energy of flowing water due to which an emf will be produced which ultimately produces the required current.
01:28
In this question, it is asked that the energy which is required for producing the electricity out of this particular hydro power plant is been obtained from which of the following options...
