Isle Royale National Park (an isolated island park in Lake Superior, USA) is home to a handful of wildlife species, including grey wolves (Canis lupus) and moose (Alces alces). In the 1980s, Isle Royale NP had a population of wolves numbering around 50 individuals. A park visitor brought a dog infected with canine parvovirus, a disease that quickly spread to the wolves, resulting in a near decimation of the wolf population on the island.
On September 26, 2018, 2 grey wolves were translocated to Isle Royale NP in an effort to save the park's wolves from extinction. These individuals were translocated from a source population of wolves living in a different state (Minnesota, USA). In subsequent days, the Isle Royale translocated population was supplemented with an additional 3 wolves from Minnesota and mainland Michigan.
Your employer has asked that you measure the genetic variation in each wolf pack (i.e., the remnant population and the translocated population). You test five wolves from each pack/population (remnant and translocated populations) for variation at three loci.

A) What are the allele frequencies for each locus in each pack/population of wolves?
B) Which loci are polymorphic (i.e., major allele frequency < 0.95) in each population?
C) What is the average observed homozygosity in each population?
D) What is the average expected heterozygosity for the remnant population of wolves?
E) Which population has the most genetic diversity based on average number of alleles per locus?
F) What will the genotype frequencies be in the next generation for locus A in the remnant population of wolves, assuming they reach Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium?
G) Assuming a (future) population size of 45 wolves in the translocated population, how many individuals of each locus-A genotype are expected under Hardy-Weinberg?
H) Wolf #7170 has the genotype A1A2 at locus A. What is the probability that her sibling, wolf #7169, shares this genotype? What is the probability that her offspring, wolf #7173, shares this genotype? (Note: these are wolves from the translocated population)
I) If we assume the effective population size of the entire Isle Royale wolf population is 6, a new mutation that is destined to become fixed takes how many generations to do so?
