All right, we are going to talk for a second about sex linked recessive disorders and, briefly, how to calculate some probabilities that one will have a child with this one of these disorders given some pretty specific circumstances.
00:21
So the sex linked recessive disorder that we're going to focus on right now is known as hemophilia.
00:28
It is a blood disorder, and i've written himself down already to make it things a little bit faster for me and hopefully a little bit more simple for you and to just kind of covered the basics so we don't get confused along the way.
00:44
Given that we're talking about hemophilia, i'm gonna use little h and big age for the illegals little age being the recessive big h being the dominant and then briefly reminder that these are kind of our human sex chromosomes.
01:03
The x x is female x y being male.
01:07
So the notation that you'll see me use for these traits will be an ex with the letter corresponding with the illegal x little h being an x chromosome with a recessive alil x big age being an x chromosome with the dominant alil.
01:26
And in this disease it is on lee present on the x chromosome.
01:31
So you won't see this alil on the y or associate with wyatt.
01:35
All all right.
01:39
And then our players we have dad who has excellent age.
01:45
Why? so he has hemophilia.
01:56
There is only one bell and then his daughter as ex big hx little age.
02:04
So no hemophilia and then her husband, his ex big h y.
02:14
So he also has no hemophilia.
02:21
All right.
02:22
And now we're going to talk about the offspring between the daughter and her husband.
02:29
Well, to start this off, we're gonna use a basic on its square.
02:33
And i'm gonna set that up with the daughter along the left side and husband along the top, those foot off those chromosomes each little age big h then why? and again, the why does not have the salil.
02:54
It does not carry the illegal...
