Displays 14.List the types of vertebrae in order from the skull through the tail. Explain briefly where each is. 15.Look at the diaphanous mouse and rat. Do the vertebrae touch each other? What (if anything) is between them, and why might it be there? 16.Look at the bat and bird skeleton(s) on display. Which has bones in its wings to provide rigidity of the wing surface? What bones are these in a human (common name). How does the other organism provide rigidity to its wings? 17.Ooh and Ahh over the 2 snake skeletons. Count EVERY vertebra on the 2 snakes. Are they the same number? As snakes grow, do they add vertebrae, and is this what makes them longer? 18.Which Class of animal has ribs that end at the thoracic vertebrae?
