The object of this assignment is for you to synthesize the information we have talked about, identifying connections and distinctions within the material. You must assemble all the words below into a single map, drawing logical connections between them. The connections must be labeled with at least a word or two explaining your reasoning for linking the terms. For example, if you were to connect "Archaea" and "Bacteria", you could write "are both prokaryotes" or "are unicellular" to connect them. The map must be clear, readable, and the organization must be easy to understand (so the map cannot be too cluttered or confusing). There is no one correct way to connect these concepts – there are many possible correct ways. There are incorrect connections – for example, if you connected "Archaea" and "Bacteria" and wrote "are multicellular", this would not be correct. You can express your creativity in this assignment. When you link the concepts, use the chance to reinforce your understanding and think about how the concepts are related to each other. You are welcome to work on this assignment with friends and discuss it, but you each must turn in your own, original mind map. Your map must include all of the following words. It's okay if your artistic talent is not fantastic – your grade is not based on your ability to draw accurate sketches, but it is genuinely valuable to use color, images, etc to illustrate the classifications – it's just another way to remember these important concepts.
