I am a single mother of one (12 year old boy) who teaches prealgebra, algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and a senior level math class. I was a substitute teacher from the 2004-2005 school year through June 2008, then again from January 2010-June 2015. I have been in my current position since August 2016. I also am our district's Highly-Capable teacher. I oversee our students who take online classes for everything from credit recovery to AP. My initial degree is a BAE in Elementary Mathematics from Eastern Washington University. When I returned to subbing in 2010 I realized I loved teaching middle and high school math and decided to get my MAME so I could be certificated for those levels. I am now certificated K-12 in general elementary education and 5-12 mathematics. I love math, I love the rules, but I also love the creativity and beauty in math and try to share that with as many students as I can. I can work problems from different angles to help students get from what they know to what they need to know.
