Biography

Skilled and experienced physics tutor, with experience in both
live and on-paper-writing tutoring. I had tutored US-based, native
English-speaking students. I have a year and a half long experience
in creating and writing specialized university-level textbook solutions,
and two years in live one-on-one physics tutoring. I had developed
native-like English pronunciation and broad writing skills.
I base my tutoring strategy on strong communication skills, together
with a focus on listening to the students and collaborating with them
about their educational needs.

CALC Two moles of an ideal gas are compressed in a cylinder at a constant temperature of $65.0^{\circ} \mathrm{C}$ until the original pressure has tripled. (a) Sketch a pV-diagram for this process.
(b) Calculate the amount of work done.

CALC During the time 0.305 mol of an ideal gas under- goes an isothermal compression at $22.0^{\circ} \mathrm{C}, 468 \mathrm{J}$ of work is done on it by the surroundings. (a) If the final pressure is 1.76 atm, what was the initial pressure? (b) Sketch a pV-diagram for the process.

A gas undergoes two processes. In the first, the volume remains constant at 0.200 $\mathrm{m}^{3}$ and the pressure increases from $2.00 \times 10^{5}$ Pa to $5.00 \times 10^{5}$ Pa. The second process is a compression to a volume of 0.120 $\mathrm{m}^{3}$ at a constant pressure of
$5.00 \times 10^{5} \mathrm{Pa}$ (a) In a $p V$ -diagram, show both processes. (b) Find the total work done by the gas during both processes.

Work Done in a Cyclic Process. (a) In Fig. 19.7 $\mathrm{a}$ , consider the closed loop 1$\rightarrow 3 \rightarrow 2 \rightarrow 4 \rightarrow 1 .$ This is a cyclic process in which the initial and final states are the same. Find the total work done by the system in this cyclic process, and show that it is equal to the area enclosed by the loop. (b) How is the work done for the process in part (a) related to the work done if the loop is traversed in the opposite direction, 1$\rightarrow 4 \rightarrow 2 \rightarrow 3 \rightarrow 1 ?$ Explain.

The process abc shown in the $p V$ -diagram in Fig. El9.1l involves 0.0175 mole of an ideal gas. (a) What was the lowest temperature the gas reached in this process? Where did it occur? (b) How
much work was done by or on the gas from $a$ to $b ?$ From $b$ to $c ?$ (c) If 215 J of heat was put
into the gas during abc, how many of those joules went into internal energy?

A gas in a cylinder is held at a constant pressure of $1.80 \times 10^{5} \mathrm{Pa}$ and is cooled and compressed from 1.70 $\mathrm{m}^{3}$ to 1.20 $\mathrm{m}^{3} .$ The intermal energy of the gas decreases by $1.40 \times 10^{5} \mathrm{J}$ . (a) Find the work done by the gas. (b) Find the absolute value $Q$ of the heat flow into or out of the gas, and state the direction of the heat flow. (c) Does it matter whether the gas is ideal? Why or why not?
