So mhc has two different complexes.

Mhc1 is going to be for intracellular components, whereas mhc2 is for extracellular.

So the way this works is a cell is going to have an antigen on the inside, or in the case of an antigen.

This antigen is going to bind with the mhc molecule, and this complex is going to work its way to the surface of the cell, where it can be presented and now interact with some sort of antigen presenting cell to induce its response.

A t -cell receptor works by being a protein complex on the outside of the surface of the cell and it consists of an alpha component and a beta component and you're also going to have a three protein cd3 complex next to it additionally you're going to have either a cd4 or a cd8 molecule which helps it interact with an mhc molecule so now we would have a t -cell interacting with this antigen presenting cell or the cell with that mhc complex on the surface and this is going to cause that t -cell response.
