Hey guys, so today we're going to talk a little bit about digestion and kime.
00:06
So first let's talk about kime and what that is.
00:08
So kime is the material exiting the stomach, which consists of partially digested food that's been digested mechanically and chemically in the stomach, mechanically by that churning that the stomach does, and chemically by hydrochloric acid as well as enzymes.
00:26
And it also contains some water, the hydrochloric acid that the stomach contains.
00:30
That makes it really acidic, helps to break down that food, and some, again, digestive enzymes like tripsin, which helps digest protein in the stomach.
00:40
So since we have such a high amount of hydrochloric acid in the chyme, we need to neutralize it or make it less acidic before it enters the small intestine so that that intestine doesn't get damaged...
