Discusion Responce to: Socially, I think that there will be clashes between certain ethnic groups. With the United States become a melting pot of different cultures, there are going to be cases where opinions towards certain groups will become negative. This will create a sort of turmoil between the two and treating them differently because of where they are from. One case of this happening is Pearl Harbor when we had negative feeling towards all Japanese immigrants. With this knowledge I believe that there will be other smaller instances of this happening. Politically, I think that the United States will be less likely to open to certain countries immigrating to the Untied States. One example that I can think of is when we had a ban on Chinese immigrants coming to America. I think that this will happen because of the circumstances that happen during WWII and that will give the government a reason to not allow these immigrants come to the United States. We have had instances of this happening with the Native American, although they never migrated to the United States. We had put them into a sort of concentration camp and put their children in a school to Americanize them.

Determine the value of T that would cause the column to start to buckle. Use E = 10 GPa for wood. Each cable makes 45° angle with the horizontal. The cross-section of the column is rectangular, 100 mm by 40 mm. the length of the column is 5 m. Partial credit available for one of the incorrect answers.
