In this video, we want to talk about the physiological mechanisms of stress.

So basically, that's saying like how the body physically responds to stress.

You know, there's like the psychology perspective, there's all of the mental reaction, there's, you know, becoming aware of it, managing it, but on a physiological biological level, what happens when the body is stressed out.

So basically, stress simulates the parasympathetic nervous system, and it activates the pathways of what's called the fight or flight response, which is, you know, when our body thinks we're in danger, and we want to alleviate that, that danger and take some kind of action.

So what are some of the results of this? it's like preparing to be able to escape the stressful situation as if we're in physical danger.

So typically, the heart rate goes up, you'll feel like your heartbeat, you know, and then like the breathing, so you're going to breathe at a faster rate, because if your heart rate is going up, you're trying to supply more oxygen throughout your body.
