DNA transcription is the process by which mRNA is formed from certain genes. Draw out a eukaryotic mRNA strand. Be sure to include all of the different components that are found on an mRNA. The message should be at least 15 nucleotides long. (6 points) B. This message will then be translated into amino acids. Draw out the general structure of an amino acid. Label it carefully. (4 points) C. These amino acids will be incorporated together and linked with what type of bond? (1 point) D. The resulting protein can then be packaged in vesicles and sent to the location it is needed. Your protein is going to be sent to the plasma membrane. What are the properties (what does it consists of) that are unique to the plasma membrane? (2 points)

A gene contains three exons (A, B, C) and two introns. This gene is expressed heavily in muscle cells as well as neurons in the body; you find lots of A proteins in these two tissue types. a) Draw out a schematic of this eukaryotic gene, labeling all components. b) In looking at A proteins expressed in the tissue types, you find that the amino acid sequence differs slightly between the muscle and the neurons. Specifically, the amino acid sequence at the beginning of both proteins is identical, but the amino acid sequence near the end of the protein is quite different between the two tissue types.
